Captain Charles M. Arvisais was born in Mount Kisco, New York. After graduation from Northeastern University with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, he was commissioned into the Marine Corps and trained as an artillery officer.
From October 2005 – May 2008, Captain Arvisais served as a Forward Observer, Fire Direction Officer, and Battery Executive Officer with 1st Battalion, 10th Marines, deploying as a part of the Unit Deployment Program. From December 2006 – December 2007, Captain Arvisais deployed to Al Qaim, Iraq as the Fires Officer for Military Transition Team 0731. Upon return, Captain Arvisais served as the Assistant Battalion Logistics Officer for 2d Battalion, 10th Marines.
From May 2008 – February 2011, Captain Arvisais was assigned to Marine Corps Security Force Battalion, Kings Bay, Georgia where he held the billets of Platoon Commander and Commanding Officer for Headquarters & Support Company.
From February 2011 - September 2011, Captain Arvisais attended the U.S. Army Field Artillery Captains Career Course, where he graduated in the top 10 percent of his class.
From September 2011 – August 2014, Captain Arvisais was assigned to 2d Battalion, 10th Marines, deploying to Helmand Province, Afghanistan as the Deputy Team Chief for the 2d Brigade Advisor Team from December 2011 – December 2012. Upon return, Captain Arvisais assumed command of Battery G, 2d Battalion, 10th Marines. From November 2013 – August 2014, Captain Arvisais served as the Assistant Battalion Logistics Officer. Captain Arvisais assumed his current position as the Commanding Officer, Battery A, Ground Combat Element Integrated Task Force in August 2014.
Captain Arvisais’s awards include the NATO Meritorious Service Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with 1 gold star, and the Artillery Saint Barbara’s Medal.
Captain Arvisais is married to the former Katherine Belt of Portsmouth, Rhode Island.
