FAMILY INTRO LETTER

Dear Friends and Family of the Ground Combat Element Integrated Task Force,

Let me introduce myself, my name is Colonel Matthew St. Clair, and I am the commanding officer of the Ground Combat Element Integrated Task Force (GCEITF). I am humbled to stand beside the men and women of this command and it is a privilege for me to be their commander.  They are our Nation’s most valuable assets and their dedication to support and defend our Constitution is truly remarkable.

First and foremost I would like to welcome you to the GCEITF family. You are a vital link in the command’s mission and crucial to our success.  I can’t thank you enough for the daily support you provide to your Marine or Sailor as we focus on realistic, gender neutral, combat arms training that will contribute significantly to the future readiness of the Marine Corps.

The GCEITF will conduct home station training aboard Marine Corps Base, Camp Lejeune, North Carlina,  now through early February 2015. About mid February 2015 the unit will conduct a Deployed for Training (DFT) exercise to 29 Palms, California; Bridgeport, California; and Marine Corps Base, Camp Pendleton, California. This DFT will last through early June 2015 but as many of you know, that is subject to change.  As we get closer to our DFT window, I will be able to provide you more information on specific dates and locations. Upon completion of the DFT, we will return to Camp Lejeune for continued directed training while beginning initial preparations for deactivation of the command. So as you can see, the GCEITF has a very hectic schedule and your Marine or Sailor will spend a significant amount of time in the field training in both North Carolina and California, so begin your family preparations now.

Please contact the GCEITF Deputy Family Readiness Officer, Staff Sergeant Conner, by phone at (910) 449-8500 or email at christopher.conner@usmc.mil for information concerning available resources supporting the families of our Marines and Sailors and upcoming family events.

Again, thank you for your support and I look forward to have the opportunity to meet each of you in the future.
Semper Fidelis,
M.G. St. Clair
